I wish I might
I pray tonight that
my dreams take flight.
Cheesy but ohhh sooo true! 2010 was very bittersweet. Life was moving along without me. I was very much going through the motions, not being proactive. People making decisions without my consent. Whose fault was that you may ask? Yep, you guessed it. But, I claim it. I dealt with what the Universe gave me, no questions asked. I rolled with the punches because I was emotionally crippled.
2010 started out to be so promising. I spent New Years in NYC with one of my closest friends on the planet and a small French tribe that made me long for a better existence. I interviewed Fishbone and Orphaned Land, one a legend from my youth and a band from Israel that sings the battle cry of the youth! Photographed Alice In Chains which lead to a piece to be displayed at the Museum of Science and Industry in February 2011 and a feature of FourteenG to be chronicled for the future of minority/majority heavy metal fans from around the world. However, out of all of those triumphs, I had a sudden move from the Southside to the Northside, I found myself underemployed and I lost the last of three father figures that the deities saw fit to bestow upon me, my uncle, Herschel Jenkins around the Christmas holiday. My birthday no less!
We made it through the last Mercury in retrograde for 2010 and was it a custerfuck. Yes, goodbye 2010. Thanks. Really.
